XDs magazine hard to eject

When I eject my magazines I have to push them up when I push the ejector or nothing happens. When I push up and push the ejector they come right out. At first I thought they made it this way on purpose, but couldn't figure out why, then I watched a video on YouTube and the would fall right out when ejected by the people on the video.

Is anyone else having, or had this problem? Is it normal and will loosen up as it breaks in?

Mine is pretty stiff as well (STS), I figure it will loosen up over time...

From what I'm reading, they're all annoyingly stiff, mine included. I can't think of anything that'll help besides a revised mag catch with a lighter spring.

Or training your thumb. 1-2-3-4 I declare a thumb war!

All the springfield XD, XDm, XDs line has stiff mag releases, especially when the mag is loaded to full capacity and your trying to unlead the full mag. When it's empty it's much easier but still stiff and will definately loosen up over time. Work the release with a mag in it an chance you get over and over. It will loosen up. The XDs isn't as bad as my full size XDm's.

Releasing the mags will get better with time. Reason being is that the mag springs are very stiff, that is why it's difficult to load the 5 rounds.

My thumb isn't quite long enough to depress the release button, so I release the mags with my index finger on the other side. Works for me! Yes, release is very stiff!
