Hey!

That looks like a really neat install. Nice work. But is the Velcro affected by barrel heat?

Oh man! Now I'm jonesing for a tactical shotgun. 😁😁

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
I'm sure it will be, I'm working on a better solution it's there to keep the cable from the remote in place . I'm sure tyraps would work. There's options. I still need a sling and optic.

Hmmm, how about a hose clamp, painted black? Nah, that would be too ugly. But maybe the "Mad Max" look would be cool. šŸ˜‰

Thank you for your indulgence,

Crikey here's the break down so far.
Citadel Bosshog $242.40
Tube extension $54.74
Shell holder $8.78
QD mount $11
Bolt release mod .20cents
Light /w offset mount $44
Rail adapter $15.50
Cyelee RDS $74.25
Sling $17.70
Total so far $468.52
For a Amazon equipped "Combat Shotgun"
I look forward to running this thing to the ground. It's super fun project gun. If it proofs reliable, I think it would be hard to beat. I still need to work with a couple of things to see if I'll make any changes.
Still have to mount the RDS, permanently mount the shell holder on the stock and or the receiver, Figure out what I'm gonna do with the remote light pressure switch, the bolt release is way to small, and figure out how I'll be setting up the sling. Keep in mind this shotgun has less than 150 rounds.

Sub 500$ setup sounds like an insane value purchase, especially if it performs as good as you described

So it's been a while since an update. The Hog has been out twice since the last post. A quick 150 round sporting clays round and a fun boys night out in which the Hog ran an easy 200 plus rounds. The Hog was the joke of the night, Everyone one made fun of the thing but by the end of the night everyone agreed to buy one šŸ˜‚. Things didn't start all that great by the first 25 rounds my RDS came flying off. Remounted it and another 25 rounds later the mount adapter ce lose and was walking around, so I just said the heck with it and left it off. It was cool to get feed back from my buddies as we all shoot sporting clays.

1.The first thing was the 357 case to extend the charging handle had to go. I agreed so off it came and Bam! 45 acp case it's so much better.

Here's the charging handle with the new case after the epoxy dried.

After a quick Polish. It's freaking beautiful. It made charging the Hog so much easier on my digits.

2. Had to find a semi permanently way to mount the pressure switch. I had to spend a little more dough. I found this on Amazon.
Image

I drilled and tapped the switch into place.

There's 7 tiny holes drilled at different angles that were filled with epoxy and screws that were tapped and drilled on the plastic handguard. To hole the pressure switch in place. It's extremely sturdy and not going anywhere. I know the handguard looks crappy but that was a reaction the glue/resin had on the plastic once I'm done it's going to look bad ass.

3. The RDS coming lose was unacceptable and humiliating šŸ˜‚. So it was back to the drawing board. I never did a finale install on the RDS as I wasn't sure if it was gonna stay. It is, so I need it to stay in place. So I prepared the the RDS and mount adapter hardware. Cleaned all hardware and tapped holes with alcohol removing any oils. The adapter has two set screws that apply downward pressure to prevent the mount from walking (I'm assuming). So I said the heck with it the receiver is super thick so I decided to drill some dimple's to help take care of the problem.

After drilling dimples all hardware was torqued to what I think is spec ( no documentation to back it) and installed using blue thread lock.

I jumped the gun and installed the extension tube and stock using thread locker. I still need to strip the receiver as I plan on.
1. Opening the loading port.
2. Installing a larger bolt release.
3. stippling the handguard and stock

Another quick upgrade to the Citadel. I went ahead and did a .05 cent enlarged bolt release upgrade. I was able to complete this quick job in about 2 hours. I wasted half an hour trying to figure out what I was gonna use as a button. After toying around a nickel was the perfect size. Here's a picture of the bolt release after I drilled it.

Here's another one after I tapped it .

Here's a picture of the bolt release mocked up with my new button.

Here's a picture after I installed it on to the receiver. I used red thread locker to hopefully keep it from shifting. I'm super happy with the results. Iv taken these things apart so many times, im confident I could do it blind folded. The Citadel has been by far the funnest project gun I own and so far it hasn't given me any reason not to trust it with my life.

My second Citadel is in pieces right now. I removed the lip from the mag tube. It's ready for a mag tube extension. It will get a few mods and a paint job but that's about it.

Alright quick update on project Citadel "Tactical" Bosshog 2.0" šŸ˜‚

This shotgun will not be equipped with a red dot. It will have a Flashlight, Extension Tube, Modified Charging Handle, Modified Bolt Release, and a little work on the Loading Port. Here's the progress so far.
The Loading Port has been done.

Also got around to Modding the Bolt Handle. All it is, a Spent 45ACP casing that has been epoxied on to the OEM Charging Handle and Polished.

Yup I also got around to Modding the Bolt release. This one isn't as easy as 1 might think (especially with limited tools). It's the OEM Bolt Release that I have drilled and tapped. I also had to cut the hex screw, The hardest part was trying to figure out what to use as a "Button" lucky for me I found a 2nd nickel with a hole šŸ˜†.

Here's a pic with out the pressure switch. I played around with the cap switch and remote switch. I prefer the remote switch. Im pretty happy with the results so far.
Hey! How were you able to mount the red dot rail I just got one of these and want to put one on it seems to thin to drill into

The boss hog has a rail on the top of the receiver. If you got the same mount your good to go, it simply clamps on. I drilled dimples on the receiver to keep the mount from moving. Do the boss hog a favor and don't run heavy loads thru it. The locking action on these shotguns are a horrible design. I run nothing but bird shot and low recoil buckshot thru them.
