I have pretty much narrowed it down to these two holsters for owb everyday carry. I would just like to know if anyone uses either of these and how they perform is one more comfortable than the other or more concealable than the other? is there any others that are similar to these or would perform better than these?

I carry my XD in a SERPA for work almost every day. I was never a fan of paddle holsters until I tried the Blackhawk paddle with the "fangs" on it. When adjusted properly over a good belt (I use Wilderness belts) it is rock solid and absolutely stable. The "fangs"are adjustable so I can wear different width belts and have the same stability.

I've never tried the 5.11 holster but it looks like a quality piece of kit. It's a Blade-Tech design and they have always put out good stuff.

Whichever you choose, practice with it a lot.

Godspeed,

Jack

I have several Serpa holsters.... one for glock:oops: one for S&W, a couple for XD's....

the point is I have one on one Duty belt, the others I use as paddle style. if i don't wear a belt it doesn't move if your waist is tight. or I have gun belts for loose fitting jeans, BDU's.

I run every day with my XDm {full size -40}, no belt ( but with tight fitting waist) my holster might slide just a wee bit forward after a mile or so, but it stays there.

very comfy after break in, not too difficult to conceal with larger apparel.

the only other holster i will probably get is a safariland for a duty holster.( other than a custom but that's another story)

practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice,.......................................
