Ak dust cover anyone?

I've been looking at dust cover for my ak with some rails on it, I can't really decide which one to get. There are the side rails, and there are other flat top rails with the dust cover, but sit pretty high.

I've come across a product by Texas Weapons systems.
.Texas Weapon Systems, Dog Leg scope rail

and was looking at their 2nd gen dust cover

It's guaranteed to hold zero, but i'm not quite sure if it in fact does that.

It's also a bit on the pricier side.

Any thoughts??

Thanks

I had one but sold it. I did not like look of rails on my Polish 1960 AK-47. Thinking of getting one again for another project gun. It's a solid mount and retains zero well. The only negative I've read is that if you've got a weak recoil spring, their replacement spring guide can break when hit hard by the bolt carrier. Not sure how prevalent that is or if it's an isolated case. Their CS is excellent though and I'm sure they'll take care if you if you do have issues.

Another note, it requires removal of the rear sight leaf which means that you almost have to buy their rear peep sight for an additional $$$. The good thing is that is increases your sight radius and may improve accuracy. If you get see-through scope rings, you may be able to use the irons with scope attached.

I actually liked my iron sights, they are spot on, I guess I'll just have to try the texas weapons system one, and slap on their peep sight. I'll post back on her once I get it all together.

I bought one for my AK-75 (Polish Tantal), installed it, then took it off. Don't like the looks. My Tantal has Tapco furntiture on it (I call it my Galilski) so it's not stock looking at all, but that black dust cover with rail just doesn't look right.

Plus, to be frank, dust covers come off pretty easily. Just push the button on the back and lift. The front of it doesn't seem to go very far under rear sight mount, so I wonder how much movement you would get.

I am going to try mine out again and see if I can get used to it. If not, I will get rid of it.
