What are the picatinny rails good for on the mag carrier that came with my XD? Any ideas?

store a light or laser when holstered if holster does not accomodate on gun

I often hang the XD loader during matches - that way I don't misplace it.

Sometimes I use the loader on the carrier as a third spot for mags - no good for retention while running a stage, but OK for stepping into box before loading
