Luckily my FFL was around to do the transfer on Sunday for my gun that he got late Saturday when I was unable to go get it. Took it to the range to do a quick check it out. I had factory loads with me and I did not have one issue with it. After reading some other posts I wonder how it could produce a light strike because the dent by my firing pin is deep, and kind of flat looking like a very tiny chisel hit the primer.
I was concerned with the grip after reading over and over how the pattern bothered them when they fired it. Maybe after a few hundred rounds but after 50 or so I fired through it so far I have not noticed the grip one bit.
I did notice that the curve at the back of the grip likes to hit my knuckle on the thumb but careful hand placement cut back on the number of times I got hit. This issue was a pretty big concern to me as I know that the gun could lead to a flinch when I pull the trigger. I read another post on this topic and they suggested a smaller back plate which I had already done when seeing that to place my finger on the trigger the way that I like I had to slid my hand forward just enough so that that curved part would hit my knuckle. I did not get to fire it yet to see if this will be the solution for me as it was for the other poster.
Interestingly this gun was test fired on 9/11/2013. Interesting or creepy not sure which but hopefully a good omen. My knuckle is pretty tender and sore right now so I hope the new back-strap fixes it all. I put some lub on it but it seemed very smooth right out of the box.
Putting the action back on was more challenging that I thought it would be but after several ties I got the gun back together. I imagine as the release lever loosens up and I get some practice it will work fine.
