I just picked up and XDM9 and an XD9SC. When I pull the slide back on the SC it stays locked, but on the XDM9 I have to pull the slide back and push the Slide Lever up to lock the slide. Is this normal operation?

Thanks for helping a new XDM owner out.

My XDm 40 operates the exact same way. I suspect that would be normal.

The slides on the XD and XDM should only lock back if there is something pushing up on the slide catch, either a thumb or a magazine follower. If your SC is locking back, then perhaps you have an empty mag in it.

Thank you. Solved. Had empty clip in SC and none in XDM.
