That wait time is a biotch! What sucks is it doesn't seem to matter next time...still an unreasonably long wait even though you've already been through the process.
The place I go through said that the issue seems to be that since it was supposed to be easier and quicker, a LOT of people jumped in the pool, and overloaded the system.I'm thinking of getting another suppressor, but looks like wait times are still 9-12 months, if not more. I wish E-file had worked the way they thought it would.
Went through the E Filing meant to be 90 days it was 5 months!!!After fourteen months of waiting on the ATF, I finally got my suppressor. Then, I finally got to take the XDm Elite (threaded) shooting. Wow! Using 124gr 9mm FMJ subsonic, I was pinging 10"x10" steel plates at 50 yards. Very quiet. Was able to shoot without muffs/plugs comfortably. Was near a lake, and the 'smack' of the bullet on the lake was much louder than the pistol being shot. What surprised me most wasn't how accurate the XDm Elite was, but how the ammo worked. I used a modified (self-calculated) load that I reloaded myself and wasn't sure how it was going to go. The powder and primers were 20 years old (but kept in a clean, dry and cool area), and I couldn't find an exact 'recipe' for the bullets I had. Turned out to be a win-win for me. I reloaded 100 rounds this first go around (it's been a while since reloaded - but the need for subsonic forced me as I wasn't going to pay $40/box of 50). Just finished up another 300 rounds 9mm subsonic and can't wait for another chance to take this silent baby out!
