Howdy! Noobe here.
Considering an XD or XDm 9mm, probably a 5"/5.25. I'm into hand loading and was wondering if the XDm has conventional land & groove rifling or polygonal?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the standard XD does.
Reason for asking is that I've found that, in general, land & groove barrels shoot plated bullets more accurately than polygonal rifling. I have thousands of plated bullets on hand and prefer them in most target shooting.
With a good pistol, I am capable of shooting sub-3" groups at 25 yards when I'm in the zone (not every day) and I'm looking for that kind of accuracy in a new 9mm.
I shot a XD9 Tactical recently and fell in love with the ergonomics and the trigger was fine for me. Didn't get to shoot it as much as I wanted, but accuracy seemed promising at 25 yards.
Thanks for any advice on barrels and/or anything else about XD's/XDm's.
