I just went through trying to find an XDM 5.25" 9mm that included a PRP match trigger and a Dawson .100" front FO sight. After pricing it out, I decided to go with a Dawson Precision CRP "Custom Shop" XDM. The CRP includes a Springfield Custom Shop (SCS) XDM with the following:
-
[*]Competition Action Job (includes 3.5 pound trigger pull and reduction of overtravel and reset).
[*]Smooth front face of trigger.
[*]Springfield Custom Shop fit Match Barrel.
[*]Fully adjustable low mount rear sight.
[*]Dawson .100" FO sight
[*]Grip and base pad tape
[*]Dawson's Sight in Guarantee
The trigger included with the SCS XDM is the PRP trigger. The price from Dawson was $914. Bang for your buck I couldn't beat this price.
Best price I can find on the XDM 5.25 9mm was around $700. Include the PRP trigger and Dawson front sight brought the price up to $900. PRP has the XDM with match trigger and Dawson sight for $930 but it's on back order.
So I went with the Dawson CRP SCS pistol. It is a "stock" XDM pistol that has over $500 worth of SCS work done to it. The box that the XDM came in says "Springfield Custom Shop".
This Dawson CRP is the best "stock" gun I have every purchased. The trigger breaks cleanly at 3.5 lbs and is as close to a 1911 trigger I've ever felt on a polymer gun. It easily shoots 1.5" groups at 50'. Every person that has tried it comments it's the best trigger they have felt on a polymer framed gun.
You really can't go wrong with the Dawson CRP if you want a Springfield Custom Shop XDM.
