Okay, my signature tells you what is in my current stable. I am looking to diversify....
I was able to shoot the XD9, and was as accurate with it as my Kimber Customer Classic ( 5 shot groups 1.5" at 21ft 1" to left of center). I shot both in the same session.
Basically, I am planning to get a 4" first, then a 3". But, 9mm? 40cal?
Bi-Tone?
I cannot decide.
I like the black and am willing to do some effort to preserve it. However, I understand the SS on the Bi-tone is less maintaince.
As for calibar and size, I do plan to carry, partically the 3" during the Summer. Also, I hike in WA State parks, so cougers and bears are possible.... makes me think the .40cal is more appropriate for my needs. I like the .45's, but a 4" XD would be about 3/4 lbs lighter loaded.
I also started shooting IDPA with the Kimbers and would likely see if I did better in ESP with the the XD as opposed to CDP with the Kimbers.
Of course, I could get the XD40 4" and an XD9 3".
Anyway, thanks for the input.
