As a previous owner of an XDm 9mm and a shooter of various semi autos, I consider my XD9 subcompact my everything gun. It is just as accurate as my full size XDm, it conceals very well, magazine capacity is outstanding, I trust my life with it more than my Army issue weapons, and if I had a primary and had to hand this pistol off to someone chances are they would know how to use it being its simple ergonomics. I have extensive range and combat time with a Glock, more time with an M&P than my hands care to remember, and in this little time I've had my XD it has trumped over any comparison I have made in a handgun. These are solely my own opinions and based on personal experiences on the range or in the field. I would like to hear what you use your XD for or if anyone else considers it an everything gun.

My EDC is a XD9SC with a Pearce +1 mag extension for 14+1 capacity, TruGlo TFO sights, a Paccy rubber grip sleeve, and a PRP Ultimate Match trigger. It rides at 9:00 o'clock (lefty) in a Uncle Mike's kydex OWB beltslide. I can put a full mag into the 10 ring at 5 yards as fast as I can pull the trigger. My motto is, "Dont. Just don't."

Thats awesome guys...I often hear of people buying multiple firearms for multiple situations/scenarios but I honestly cant get over how my XD9 fits so many roles. Everything before stepping up to a carbine/rifle platform that is. The forum has been awesome so far and its great meeting members who obviously are safe and proficient with their firearms and carry with common sense.

Well I had an xd9 subcompact and I loved it!! I sold only to buy a xds 9 as it conceals better for me. I go to texas a lot and don't like to print so it works a lot better, but in Oklahoma I put my xd 9 service on my side for open carry. I used my subcompact for everything it went with me everywhere you could imagine including the bathroom(wasn't gonna get caught with my pants down without a gun.).

My XD(m)9 sc 3.8 is my winter EDC gun, IWB in a crossbreed supertuck, using the 13mag with a Pearce Grip Extension on the mag.
But come summer/cargo-shorts & tshirt season, I tend to switch over to my S&W 642 j-frame, in a blackhawk pocket holster. I could absolutely carry the 9mm, but the j-frame has zero visibility no matter what I'm doing.

Not a fan of the XD trigger but I tell you what, my old XD9sc was a shooter. I had its first failure after 6000 rounds lol The recoil spring started going bad and it had a FTF. That was the only failure I could chalk up to the gun in 6000 rounds....a few light strikes but it was ammo. It was a built like a tank!

The XD SC 9 has become my favorite pistol over the PPQ 9MM that was my favorite. The trigger is almost as smooth as the PPQ. I will also say that my accuracy is better with the XD SC than any of my other pistols. Don't know if it is the balance or what but I added the Grip Extensions on the extra mags I ordered and it feels so good. It will be the one I carry when I get the CC license.

My wife is comfortable with the XD ergonomics so I recently updated my XD Fleet. My XD9 sc is the newest member and has been getting duty over my Sig P250 in .40

Just a hair smaller all around and seems just a bit easier to carry.

Couple other 9mm Xd's (XDM is my IDPA gun, while the service is my truck gun).

Wow had a stove pipe today which was totally shooters error...at the range training on close retreat engagements where I draw out the holster, cant my sidearm and engage 2-3 rounds from the hip with strong hand and then pick up a good grip and engage remaining rounds while walking backwards...stovepipe occured when I pulled from the holster..hold your hand and turn your wrist outwards and youll see your thumb wants to come off the gun and point up and away...which is where I think the malfunction occured because I think the grip safety was not engaged on my 2nd shot while canted...it happened the first time I ran the drill and instantly knew what went wrong...btw this was the first time with my xd9 sc and fired a good 500 rounds in the first range session. I say the gun ran flawlessly noting my shooter error malfunction...used to shooting glocks but quickly fixed the issue...my favorite firearm so far and even with the 3 inch barrel its the most accurate. I am looking at picking up a viridian c5l green laser/light combo and dropping some GLOW ON into the dot sights. I also want to mention I put zombie green nail polish into the engravings which held up just fine as long as you apply it correctly.

Just went from a full size 1911 for EDC, decided to downsize my weapon as much as possible and stay with a bigger round. I settled on the XD in .40 S&W, to save a few bucks on trigger time I bought two XD's, a 9mm, and a .40 S&W. They are the same size physically, the .40 weighs a tad less (both guns loaded w/std. mag). The 9mm is an excellent range gun.

I feel more confident with the . 40 S&W for EDC.
