XD-S NOD .2 45ACP Replace Slide for New Red Dot.

Currently have a XD-S NOD .2 single Stack 45ACP with the iron sights. I would like to have the newer model slide with the ability to add a Red Dot. Can the slide be replaced? what else would have to be replaced? and if so where can I get the parts.
Don't want to sell this one as I would be out $. I have had the trigger polished and the springs replaced. Don't want to give this up or have to do it again on a new gun.

You can have the slide cut for the optic instead of replacing the slide. I don't personally know which companies offer this service but I know they are out there.

The "loaded chamber indicator" is on the top of the slide, not enough room, prevents the milling, the newer slides don't have it. There are adaptors that replace the rear sights but then the Red Dot sits higher.

I would think removing the indicator would allow the slide to be milled - albeit at the loss of that "feature".
Check with Galloway Precision ,they offer slide Milling for XDS.You do lose the loaded chamber indicator I think.

Thanks I have sent them an email.

You can't "buy" a replacement slide because your gun's serial number is stamped on it. You can, however, have a professional gunsmith machine the slide for an optic. I may be confused, but I understood that all Mod 2's came with the OSP slide. I agree with you about improving your gun and not wanting to give it up.

Actually, you most certainly can buy a replacement slide. Yes, the serial number is stamped on the original slide, but the legally serialized "gun part" is the frame, not the slide. You can replace the barrel and most other parts (if you can find them).

For example, Springfield Armory® Announces XD® OSP™ Slide Kit and Slide Assembly Conversion Systems - Springfield Armory

I have no idea whether Springfield's slide will solve the OP's problem, however.
