Had it. Saw a doctor, got rid of it.

Actually, had it once. To the gun's credit, any gun would've had some rust after that. Nothing really big or stupid, but I'm too lazy to type it out.

Didn't want to vote "Yes" because I had it; it isn't reoccuring like Herpes.

Never had it.

Just used a light oil on the gun for the first 1/2 year.

Now use Armadillo and liquid teflon.

Store the gun in a unheated garage where I leave the garage door open most of the time. (No, nobody will ever find it in my garage unless they remove most everything out of it.)

I do use moisture absorbing packets in the gun case.

Had some light surface rust come through on the slide. I cleaned it up with Eezox and now keep it wiped down with a silicon cloth. Problem fixed, except for when the slide slipped out of my fingers and bit me the other day when I was checking the chamber (Downside to Silicon Cloth). Ouch.

Very light surface rust a few times.. I have not had any since I started misting the pistol with a light coat of WD-40 after cleanings. (I clean after every shoot.)

The WD-40 seems to do a pretty good job keeping the rust at bay, plus I like the smell.

i carry mexican style, so i make sure i have a t-shirt between my flesh and the slide so my sweat wont rust the slide. i plan to have it(them) diamond koted soon.
Get a holster, you will be much happier. Mexican carry is for amateurs and people who watch too much bad tv. Remember, the gun will be hot if you ever need to use it and having it out when police arrive is a good way to get shot.

WD-40 is not a lubricant or protectant, so you may want to add a coat of CLP oil on there. The WD actually stands for "Water Displacement", so it's great for getting moisture off the surface and that may help reduce rust, but its pretty poor perforfmer in other areas. You'll also want to make sure you NEVER get WD-40 on your ammo, since it can penetrate the primer pocket and deactivate your primers.
