Well all, I just got back from the range.....I have fired many weapons in my life, and I have been trained on several handguns in the Marine Corps. I love this XD-40. It is increadably comfortable to shoot, and very accurate. The only problem I experanced was this: One of my MAGS from the 1st to about the 4th round was getting stuck between the feed ramp and the slide....like the slide was closing too early, I think that this MAG has a tighter spring....could that be the problem. All I had to do was give a very very slight tug on the slide and the round would slip into the barrel...anyone able to help me on this??? Thanks

Live with it for a few trips to the range and a couple of cleanings. Re-loading the mags several times and shooting a box or two of ammo downrange may eliminate the problem. Some folks don't like the term "break-in period", but I had a few FTF and FTE problems early on that virtually went away.

Also, compare how high the cartridges sit respective to the two loaded mags. Sometimes a little adjustment in the feed lips may be needed. E.g the problem mag may be holding the cartridge a little too low.

Just my $0.02. I'm no expert.

I use Winchester 165gr FMJ from Wal-Mart for practice and Cor-Bon 140gr DPX for carry in my XD-40. I have never had a problem with either one.

However, I did try some cheap CCI ammo and had a few problems with FTF and FTE early on. Now I have no problems at all with any ammo after 1000 rounds or so
