Some folks haven't had any problems and like their xdgear holster. Personally I had the same experience, no matter how I adjusted the holster or worked with it I still had to use two hands to draw the gun because the holster was so tight.

Finally I gave up and got the Blackhawk CQC holster (non-serpa) from James over at http://www.xd-hs2000.com (Old School also sells it at http://www.pistol-gear.com ). I love my CQC holster, its very smooth and quick to draw my XD40 Tact out of unlike the xdgear holster. I even started using it at USPSA/IPSC matches in the production division because it was so smooth.

Big thumbs up to the Blackhawk CQC. :D

I had serious problems unhostering my Service model from an XD Gear holster. I mentioned it in a thread somewhere and the guys responded by suggesting that i try and spray some silicon lube in it and let it sit for a while. Then, wipe down the holster completely.

It worked like a charm. After spraying it down, i could actually get my gun back out of the holster without it wearing the slide and ripping off my belt.

The spray that i used is made by a company called Snap. The bottle is labled Silicone Spray. I don't know the price, i think i got it at Home Depot or somewhere similar years ago. Anything similar will do fine.

After i sprayed my hoslter, i let it sit about a half an hour before wiping it down with paper towel.

before i did that, i thought i wasted 25$ on a new holster i was never going to use, but thanks to the other guys on the board, i ended up with a useful holster that i use often.

Heck, I am still waiting for mine!! I bought my XD in December! SA customer service told me to send in a check for $6.95 and proof of purchase...its freakin' almost April!! I called em and they told me that they are out of stock and would not have any until the end of April...but I keep reading about people who just got theirs in the mail...I am extremely nice when I call customer service, but I think this is ridiculous. I have heard of a few people that have opted for an extra mag. instead of the holster...anyone else do this?

I got my XD holster today. I sent a check the first week in Jan. They shipped the holster Mar. 16th. FedEx sent it to New Jersey first. I think they wanted it to go to Buffalo, NY instead of Buffalo, WY. Then, it rode around on the truck for 4 days around here because the bozos couldn't find my house which has been here 20 years, right on the highway, in the same location they've delivered to on several occasions. No mag, yet.

As to the tight fit, I boiled some water in the microwave & stuck the holster in it, put my XD40 SC in a baggie, stuck it in the holster and tightened the screw down and let it cool. I then sprayed the inside with silicone. The holster works fine now.

I sent my information and payment to Springfield the first of February. I called and talked to Lisa (I think that was her name) yesterday (3/29/05). She looked it up and said "Yep. There it is. I need to get that out."
"When?" was my reply.
She said they were waiting only on packing materials, but she thought she could get one out today (3/30/05). She didn't mention anything about anything being out of stock.

We'll see.
