I use;
pistol cleaning rod w/
brush and jag
old toothbrush
q-tips
roll of paper towls (double as great cleaning patches)
bore solvent (#9)
cleaner/lube (fp-10)

Very basic. All can be found at Wal Mart, minus the fp10. CLP is adequate though.

Nice Avatar access :wink:

Another enthusiastic vote for the MPro products. They are waaaaaay better than anything else I've used. Much more effective and no odor! :D

A bore snake, and either Break Free or Hoppes Molly (spray on) I prefer the Molly since it leaves a dry film. less sand/dust pick up in the desert. Get a couple of paper towels and you can do what needs to be done in short order.

If you haven't been shown how to disassemble, go for the instructions, it is very easy to get the slide off, and take out the barrel & spring. That is really as far as I'd say go, unless you really know what you are doing. Then again I'm sort of a coward when it comes to total disassembly of pistols. There are places I don't go even with a 1911 or my Makarov.
