I'm a fairly recent convert to the XD owner's club. I've taken my XD9 out about 6 times now and have about 1300 rounds through it so far. My last time out, I had a ftf on the last round from my stainless SA mag (10 rounds here in CA) twice. When I got home to clean it up, I took the problem mag apart and, sure enough, I had replaced the mag spring with the high side of the top of the spring toward the back instead of toward the front of the mag. The spring was not pushing the front of the round up high enough to feed properly. So, I was happy to find the easy answer to the problem and the gun was not at fault. I installed a Hogue slip-on grip and it was a great cheap improvement. It makes me grab it the same way each time without thinking about the grip. I also learned that at 15 yards, my XD9 shoots a bit low, so now I hold the top of the front sight blade on the top of the black on the 25 yd NRA pistol target and POI is a bullseye (if I do my part). Once when I was cleaning it, the rear sight moved when I pushed it with my finger. I pushed it around some more and it didn't move again and has stayed put since. I'm shooting mostly CCI Blazer aluminum since I get it for $3.99/box and also Blazer Brass at $4.99/box. I have used about a dozen different types of ammo and the gun loves them all. I usually shoot at 15 yards, but sometimes at 25 yards indoors also since the outdoor range I go to won't let you shoot any handgun at 25 yards unless it has a scope on it. I enjoy reading the posts on this site and have learned several things from the accumulated experience that is here. Thanks to you all for your enthusiasm. [/code]
