For the other poster who said you can't get a Tactical model unless you plan on refinishing it, I totally hear you! I recently picked up an XD40 Tactical model (all black) but really wanted a two-tone. What pi$$es me off is that Springfield's ads in the gun rags clearly show a tactical model with a stainless slide but they apparently don't offer one for sale.
I'm thinking of sending it off to Tripp Research for a chrome job on all visible metal parts. I've seen service models done that way and really think it looks cool. If I like it on the Tactical, I may send my beloved XD9 service model off to get the same thing done.
Speaking of XD Addiction, I want a 40 or 357 that I can carry concealed and have a good deal lined up on a gently used Sig P229 two tone with night sights. Still, I can't make the decision since I'd almost rather have another XD 40 or 357 Service model. I have no use for the little 3" pop-guns since a Service model conceals about as well as a subie. XD is such a good value even if I have to spend $250 for a chrome job and night sights (of course, if the Tactical and my other service gets the special treatment, the new one has to get it as well in the interest of fairness to all).
