Back in October of 2010 I found chips in the locking block soon thereafter I returned the receiver to SA and they properly replaced the locking block with a new one. It was thought the newer locking blocks which have radius stress relief cuts on the inside corners near where the chip popped off would prevent this from happening in the redesigned block. Not the case….It’s now two years since the locking block was replaced and after today’s trip to the range I cleaned then inspected my XD and found once again it has chips in the locking block L.

I’m wondering if anyone experienced two locking blocks failures?

BTW: since 2010 I shot +/- 3000 rounds; only 100 of which were +P loads.

That's ungodly weird, tell SA with pics and ask for an all new SC.

Apparently the subcompact is the only handgun that the Croatian make that does not get the radius cuts in the locking block. Send it back and have them replace the locking block and have your trusted gunsmith do the cuts. Hopefully that will be the end of it.
