Just picked up a XD LE 45 GAP this weekend and have not made it to the range.

Question: I read here that the magazine springs are tight at first, and difficult to load. For me though, it seems like I need to force the (Full) 9 rd mag into the pistol to get it to seat. The mag with 8 rds slids in and seeats as easily as the issue M9 I carried.

SA lists the 45 GAP capasity as 9+1.

Is this a tight mag or just operator headspace and timing?

My 45 gap is the same............Mag doesn't want to seat easily with all 9 Rounds in the mag. Just part of the design from what I can tell........

I just joined the forum and havn't seen many 45 GAP comments. I am reading the forum from old to new to get caught up.

Let me know when you fire it how it works out.

The springs are beyond extremely tight with the full 9 45gap rounds. Leave the mag loaded and it gets better with time.

yeah it's hard with the 8th and 9th round. I just go with 8 most of the time.
But ajames comment makes sense.

Yea they are tight at first....but as James said....leave it loaded for a bit and they will get better.
