I have search for an hour and found no answers. So now I'm just asking

Will my XD40 service fit in a bianchi accumold holster that is made for a Glock 17/21? The bianchi site say they are of the same size..I just want to know if the form of the holster will work for an XD. I know it wont be a perfect fit.

I am a left handed shooter and I'm having a very hard time finding holsters, other than a el-cheapo uncle mikes ambidextrous.

When I was in the Academy I had to borrow a holster for my new XD. I borrowed a Bianchi holster for a Glock 20/21 and it fit perfect. I don't think one for a 17/22 will work. The XD is taller at the muzzle than a Glock 17/22, but seems to be about the same as the 20/21.

I am only going to be using the holster for when I'm deer hunting and ocassionally going up north to the hunting shack. So maybe I should just get the uncle mikes and save my hard earned cash? I just dont like the idea of the plastic break rubbing on the back of by gun. I guess I could just use it without the break...

Thanks for the swift reply 87-51

Bianchi does make an Accumold paddle holster that fits the XD. I don't know the part number. I have/had one (it fits my buddy's Smith also, so he has it for deer hunting). It listed the XD and several other autos on the package. It ran about $35 I believe. I really haven't used it much. I've let other people borrow it longer than I've had it. It sure seemed like a nice holster  . If you are just wanting a holster for hunting, you may look at Fobus or Uncle Mike's in their Kydex models. I tend to use them quite a bit for "range" holsters. The price is right (under $20). I just don't know if they are available for south paws yet.

Doesn't Accumold = Accurately Molded? I think you might have an issue with it wearing on the finish, since it's not molded to your gun. If you need a lefty holster, depending on what you are looking to spend, FIST will make one for you. Go through Gunner's Alley for a slightly better deal, and they will guarantee the holster.

I just went with the ambidextrous uncle mikes. It works well for what I use it for. I wore it all weekend up at the huntin' shack. I will buy a nicer holster later if I happen to join a shooting league...

Thanks for all of the input!
