MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The state Senate has passed a bill that would allow homeowners to kill intruders without fear of liability.

The bill that passed with bipartisan support creates a presumption of legal immunity for someone who injures or kills a person breaking into the defender's home, vehicle or workplace. The measure requires a judge to presume that the use of deadly force was necessary to prevent harm.

The Assembly passed the proposal on a bipartisan 71-24 vote on Tuesday. The Senate passed it 26-7 Thursday.

The Senate made a change in the bill to make clear that the protection would not protect a shooter who attacked someone they should have known was a public safety officer.

The Assembly will be required to pass the bill again to accept that change.

Now I have to wonder how that will affect the CC training I just took!:?:

Not much. Just a couple different sentences throughout the four hours.

Instead of "death or imminent grave injury" it will be, "if the BG breaks into your house, you have the right to off the douche and you should be covered in court because of it. Just make sure (s)he's not wearing a public safety officer's uniform or they've made it clear that they are one of the aforementioned PSOs".

I'm just happy that it will be now (or shortly) more difficult for the far left socialist marxist DA to side with the attacker and prosecute the home owner.

Unless I've mis-read the data, states with minimal gun laws and castle doctrine have less crime (outside of the Mexican Drug Cartel crime).

The problem we're going to face is that isn't the Assembly going into recess also? I don't see a pending schedule for tomorrow.

oh...my...god....

According to my nightly news (channel 12 in Rhinelander) at 10pm...The Assembly passed the amended bill tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All that's left is the autograph of the Gov. and we're finally safe in our own homes.

Now, on to learning every in and out of the CCW and castle doctrine bill...This will be the best studying I've ever done...

Well done Wisconsin Legislature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been here 23 years and we've FINALLY got a legislature that is getting some stuff done.

Please, send money to Walker to fight the bogus recall.

Bravo WI, bravo. Congrats to you guys living there. It's extremely comforting knowing you're in the clear if you ever have to defend yourself in your home.
