If your looking for opinions here you will get a lot. Mine is a Comp Tac Pro Undercover. I have one for each gun.

Well, thats usually the way it ends up for most people. You don't get the feel for a holster until you wear it for a few hours.

If your like me, you'll have a couple before you find the one your happy with.

I never found a perfect holster for the service model, but the IWB Comp Tac holster is decent enough.

For my subcompact I use a Fist #1 holster, IWB/leather. I like it alot and think I got lucky on that one. Hope you find the one you like. I hear a lot of good things about "The Answer" by tucker. Its basically a comp tac holster with a leather backing. Comp tac actually made the kydex part of that holster. It comes with a hefty price tag though.

Thanks for the info, The extreme duty holster that came with the XD just sticks out to far from my waist to use for carrying concealed. I will have to get with my buddy magnumize and go holster huntin. Thanks again everyone for your reply.

The BEST holster is the one YOU will wear/use all the time. Think about the weather in KY, your usual attire (work AND play), threat level in your locations of travel, need/frequency of quick access, need for access while driving (while sitting in your car), etc. It is not until THEN can you decide how you should carry your weapon.

Most importantly, PRACTICE with your weapon so you are absolutely comfortable with its handling.

The Xtreme Duty Holster is pretty much the same thing as the Fobus Paddle holster.. OWB.. and I LOVE that thing! It's not meant for concealed carry.. obviously.. but it is dependable, comfortable, and after a couple of hundred pulls to break it in, it ROCKS!

For concealed carry, I have not had very good luck. I bought a Don Hume IWB that is barely useable. If I lubricate the interior real well, I can reholster it with only a little difficulty. It seems to me I shouldn't have to do that. I am waiting for a FIST holster from Gunners Alley.. it sure is taking a long time for that to get here... I am a little dissapointed with how long this is taking. It's an Ultra Thin Kydex IWB for my little .38.. if I like it (if I get it) I will buy one for the XD.. We will see.

The search for the "perfect" holster...

Holsters are like women. You can havea good one, but you'll always wonder if a different one could serve your needs better. Nice thing with holsters is that your old one will aways take you back.
