Im not an LEO, and would like to purchase a few boxes of win ranger, or some other good defensive ammo. I really want some +p or +p+ for my 9mm and my .45. Any good places to get them...online or other?


what kind of stuff do you guys like?

not to sure on the 9mm, but the taurus hex bullet which is 185 grain 99% copper is a nasty one, it mushrooms out all most twice it's original diameter.
i have a very happy kimber that eats those like cheeseburgers.
still waiting for them to make it in either 40 or 357 sig

There's a guy on Glocktalk that stocks the full line of Ranger ammo including the 127 gr. +p+. Look on the for sale listings, it's what I keep in all of my nine's.

i wish they carried the whole black hills line, but some loads like the 147g gold dot 9mm are absent.

have you fired +p or +p+ out of that short barrel?
i have a compact 9mm w/ 3.58in barrell and a full length grip and i find most +p loads a little too sharp with serious flip up. there is also more visible flash/ discharge w/ most +P. the 3in barrel on the xdsc-9 can only be worse in this regard.
i have moved to 147g standard pressue gold dot or hydashock for the pd rounds.

I have fired +p+ Ranger loads from a 3 inch barrel 9mm (I can't say which one).

They are pussy cats.
