in follow up to my earlier post, xdpistols.com has avail the 16 rnd mags for the xd-9 for about $24.00 plus $7.45 s&h for any quantity (or at least up to 3, which is what i ordered).
At the last gun show here in Shreveport, I was able to buy the 16 round mag for $25.00 tax included. I only bought one since I already had three of the 15's, but they had 5 or 6 available. They're becoming readily available elswhere as you noted.
