how can i tell what yr my xd was made.i bought it from an individual.i think its an 05 or 06

call or email Springfield Armory's customer service...they can tell the build date of your gun from the serial number on it

If you still have the test fire cartridge the date on the envelope is pretty accurate as the manufacture date. Otherwise call SA with the serial number.
