Regardless of caliber, I use a heavyweight, standard velocity LE-oriented JHP--147's in 9mm's, 230's in .45's. If I owned a .40, it'd have 180 (or 200 if I can find some data on 'em).
If that .40 PDX-1 is a 180gr, it'll do just fine.

Scroll down to the .40 selections, choose a load (they are equal, performance wise, some are just harder to find and/or more expensive), see if you pistol shoots it relaibly, accurately, and controllably, and roll with it.
