Went to the range to day to do some shooting and after about 50 rounds the slide would stick open after the 3rd or 4th round. i checked the ammo to see if it was hitting the slide lock and it was clearing it and i know it wasnt my thumb cause i made sure that wasnt hitting it either. any suggestions?

im going file down the slide lock a little bit to see if that works. the last time it happened was with the Federal Eagle(?) brand ammo. i just thought it was the ammo or my thumb. this time it happened with Remington 230g FMJ its a .45 GAP btw.

im stuck now as to what could be causing this.

Make sure your slide lock lever is still under spring tension. Sure its not your thumb hitting it under recoil? Ive never had this problem so Im not sure but those are my ideas.

i made sure it wasnt my thumb it was always on like the 3rd round when it did it. it seems like once it was warmed up and had a few rounds threw it was when it started. so who knows? it might be the ammo. i never have a problem with the Speer Lawmans TMJ's
