So, it's payday and once again I found myself heading directly and immediatly to Cabelas after my check was cashed...lol...picked up 4 boxes of S&W .40 PDX-1 165gr JHP @ $19.99/box (going to be my test fire and hopfully my carry rounds), 2 boxes of .45 Auto +P 230gr FPD Hornady TAP @ $21.99/box (alternate carry gun/rounds), 1000 large pistol primers, 250 Berrys Plated .45 Round Nose bullets @ $33.59 and 2lbs of 231 powder @ $19.99/lb...also picked up 550 rounds of once fired PMC .45acp brass for $48.00 from a guy I work with (and trust as far as the brass being new, he shoots but doesn't reload)....was a good shopping day

Just thought I would share... lol

Looks like things are good for Cabelas bottomline:) Any idea what your cost per re-loaded .45 round is? Thx.

looks like he is in the $13.00 to $14.00 a box of 50 of his reloads. Not bad. Depends on exact primer cost and amount of powder used.

And WOW 231 got expensive. I used to buy Viht powders for that price back in mid to late 90s.

That 231 was on sale too...normal was 23.99/pound, primers ran me 27.99/1000 (also on sale). As far as my cost for the .45 reloads, I have not done the math and this is my first go around with the .45. but I am sure it will be a LOT cheaper than what I would pay for factory ammo...

Cast my own rounds, reload mixed brass, use Wolf lp primers, (15.00 a 1000), powder charge cost me about .017 cents per round, make 100 rounds for under $3.00,not bad!
