Recently at a nearby range I began experiencing jams from a magazine that had never given problems before and I had been keeping it loaded as a spare carry magazing over the last year.

so heres what I want to share I plan on using my carry magazine's at least Once at each visit to the range making sure that it will always work when needed for defense thats the wrong time for a jam.
The bad mag is out of service of course until I can get a replacement spring.

Some of us probably arent mentally prepared for actions in event of a jame at a time when our lives are in danger which of course most know exactly what is to be done but are you really prepared for it?

ILL be carrying a bug gun from now on and also be ready to instantly clear a jam.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

That is what the dry-fire drills are meant for.

I also have been carrying a BUG as of late.

Unfortunately the magazine is the weakest link in the chain.
I think you should shoot your carry ammo sporadically.
As you have found it eliminated any unforeseen complications.
