Here's a site that checks the prices of all the major calibers from online retailers and ranks them according to price, brand, bullet type, price-per-round, etc. It's the easiest way to comparison shop and get the best deal on ammo that I've found. Best of all, it's constantly updated! Thought I would share!

gun-deals.com - Unbiased Gun Deals

current best cost-per-round prices:

7.62x39 - Romanian Hotshot for 21.7 cents SHIPPED to DFW from AIM Surplus
9X19 - Blue Box Monarch 16.0 cents from Academy Sports
.45ACP - 26 cents shipped from Ammo Direct Ammunition
.40S&W - Wolf 24.8 cents shipped from Centerfire Systems
.223 - Silverbear 25.0 cents shipped from Ammunition to Go

... anywho you get the idea. This is with shipping to the DFW area. You can enter your own zipcode to estimate shipping prices.

*** Mods, you might want to make this a sticky. It's crazy useful and it has a permanent place in my bookmarks toolbar ***

Cool site. Thanks for posting.

Something I noticed is that it does not calculate sales tax. For instance I live in Houston and if I buy from Ammunition to Go, I have to pay the sales tax. If I buy from Ammoman, there is no sales tax.

Something to consider when looking at the charts.

I still think AMMOMAN.COM d/b/a Discount Distributors consistently has the best all-around deals. All prices include shipping. Good service and fast shipping too.

I recently ordered 2K rounds Prvi M193 5.56 and 1K rounds of Golden Tiger 7.62 for right at $900 to my door. Prices have gone up slightly since the election though. :-|

I thought I had missed the ammo sale at Dick's Sporting Goods and they quickly told me I had not, but that most of their stock was depleted or gone. The sales clerk then offered me a rain check on the Remington UMC 115 gr ammo I wanted, and said it might be a couple of months before it was back in stock. The price of 9mm was $7.98/box of 50, but you have to buy a case of 10 boxes to get that price. The 45 cal was $14.98/box of 50, again you have to buy a case of 10. You have nothing to lose by getting a rain check, it just locks in a price for you. Tomorrow's the last day!:)
