And I don't mean just a little.

Was there some change between early and later model triggers/trigger safeties?

The reason I ask is my Tac 9 which was built (or at least tested) 5/04 is smooth and comfortable. I could shoot it all day long. My V10 however is grotesquely rough and feels physically different to the pad of my trigger finger. It almost feels like the pad of my finger is getting pinched or poked w/ a bad edge. I was going to play in open in the local league w/ it, but not w/ this trigger. I've never noticed it before because I never shot both guns at the same range session. It felt completely foreign to me and I even had to adjust my grip to be able to disengage the trigger safety reliably.

James, can you pm me the cost of replacement parts for the trigger/trigger safety?

When I got my XD-9SC a little over a year ago there was a ridge of sharp flashing down the middle of the trigger safety that was tearing up my finger. The flashing comes from the molding process. I was able to scrape it off with an X-acto knife. Might that be the problem with yours? My new XD-40 didn't have that problem but I did notice that it doesn't fit flush with the outside area of the trigger as well as the 9mm does. I'm going to scrape that down too.

The ejector broke on my Gen 1 yesterday on the 1st stage of an IDPA match. A buddy loaned me his 5" to finish the match with. His Tac has only had about 100 rds through it and the trigger is about the same as my Gen 1 which only has about 300 rds through it - a little stiff. Nothing like the trigger on my .40 Tac which is smooth as butter and has almost 11K rds through it.
His trigger also picnhed my finger.
Before replacing parts, I would try a fine finger nail file, or emory cloth and run it over the trigger edges to smooth them off. This worked on my brother's service model.

I looked at that last night and it didn't seem to have any sharp edges on anything. I'll be playing w/ it some more tomorrow eve to try to figure out what is really going on. Time to set up the work table in the basement and do a detail strip/clean on both of them to determine what the diff is.

tony;
the custom shop removes the ridges and makes a polished smooth trigger.
i have done this to both my guns and it makes a world of difference.
if you can wait untill you come down to mmsp in may, you can try mine and if you like it . i would do yours at no charge.

Now HOW can I pass up a deal like that? :)

I'll probably still delve into it a little deeper just to get a feel for stripping these things down completely so I can make some "engineering enhancements".
