I want to get my XD9 sub trigger to about 4# and have the overtravel fixed. Should I send it to Springfield? Who else does this kind of work? If you have had it done who did you use and what is your opinion?

"...stay away from tom novak at handguner outlet the guy is a bucher bad work"

It's been a # of yrs. but have seen a Glock done by the above and the gun's owner never could get the gun to be reliable until he repaced the modified parts.....

Usually a trigger job lessens the weight of the trigger or how hard it is to pull. Oftentimes, they polish contact points to make smoother. Overtravel is how far the trigger continues backward after a round is fired.

I know there is nothing wrong with the XD trigger but I still want mine lighter. And it stacks a bit for my taste.

My two cents worth for those of you who want to know:

I had Tom Novak do trigger jobs on two pistols - an HS2000 and an XD40 Service model. When I received them I felt that they were a little "light" to carry, so I called him. He said send the guns back, he'd fix them both the way I wanted, and pay the shipping. He did exactly what he said he'd do and I'm tickled with his work. I sold the XD40 and kept the HS2000. The HS2000 trigger is about 4.5 pounds and has an overtravel stop that Tom also installed. I currently have an XD40 Tactical model at Tom's getting a trigger job and overtravel stop. He's also fitting a Barsto Match Target barrel for me. If he didn't do excellent work, don't think for a second that I'd let him have my pistols. Also - Tom has plenty of work, so he can't be the butcher some are making him out to be. By the way... I'm not related to Tom. :D

I think it was some interplanetary dialect. Something about a guy that works on guns and he didn't think the guy was very good. Something about needles in the gun as well? Not sure on that. I could be wrong about the whole thing though.

Peace,
D.
