The trigger safety on my XD9 doesn't seem to go all the way into the trigger when depressed - it still sticks out very slightly. I assume this is the way it's supposed to be, however it's causing some discomfort to my trigger finger after a night at the range.

Is there a modification that can be made to the trigger assembly that would allow the safety to sit flush with the trigger when fully depressed? Is this something a qualified gunsmith could help me with?

Or perhaps I should just suck it up and stop being a baby?

I have a tendency to make things very ugly when I take a dremel to them. I also don't want to necessarily make the safety slimmer, I just want it to go all the way back.

When I got my XD, the trigger safety had a strip of flashing from the molding process the caused some discomfort. An X-Acto blade took care of that. Don't know if that's the problem with your trigger or not. The face of the safety should be smooth.
