Just pointing out a bit of irony. He specifically chose the "good" school district, and its honoring one of the leading segregationist of his era.
In KC, there was a ~30 year old project to build a highway into downtown from the 'burbs. They named it after Bruce Watkins, who was the biggest opponent of the project since it seemed to split the line between back and white neighborhoods (hint: it did, though it is all rough, primarily black neighborhoods now). His opposition was the main reason why the project was tied up in courts for decades. Dude is rolling in his grave.

Was at dentist. He was talking to me about referring me to a endodontist while I was in the chair so I went to look up the guy on my phone. Hot dental assistant right next to me was looking at my phone and when I was typing the damn predict search query showed a bunch of porn websites popping up. I'm like oops 😳

My company told me today that I need to ditch my Android phone for an iPhone. They pay my bill so I will comply, but I am not a happy camper. Some bean counter in Europe thinks we can save a few thousand dollars by buying more expensive equipment and discontinue IT support for Android. I'd rather trade in my XD for a Glock...

Its a comfort thing.

I've been anti-Apple since the first Mac. I can't logically explain why, but I shudder at the idea of carrying one of their devices around. Maybe it was because early on, I was an AMD fan and avoided Intel. Maybe that was a symptom and not the disease. I just feel like I am old enough that I have no interest in learning a different (although quite similar GUI) operating system. I never really got over the single button mouse on the Mac.

My friend has an Iphone for personal use and an android for work. Occasionally he'll hand me his Iphone to change music or download something and I just hold it and look at it like... how the f do I use this thing?

In college, I had to use an Apple desktop for a class. Drove me insane. The entire mouse was the mouse button. Hold your hand on the mouse too long? Oops, you just clicked on something. Hey, how do I copy and paste, select, delete, undo, etc. without a right-click button? Oh, I just 'hover' over it? Wtf? Know how Windows computers get around that? They just add a right button on the mouse. How do I eject this Zip disk frim the drive? 'Drag the icon to the trash?' That was years ago, before Iphones even came out, but that negative experience with user interface was enough to prove I'll never own an Apple product willingly. Even when I wanted an MP3 player, I bought a Zune. That thing worked like a charm and lasted years.

Well it was a warm sunny day today.
Did some work for my parents laid down a few RR ties along the top of the embankment of their yard.

Will be putting some top soil in later when we get closer to the rainy season here again.

We in the Hot Hotter Hottest months right now.

104 for high today.

7pm now sitting at 102.

God I LOVE Texas.

NFL/Chiefs players Mahomes and Kelce were spotted hopping off a private jet and heading toward a Tahoe casino. Good for Mahomes. He has private jet/VIP room privileges during the off-season as far as I am concerned. Dude just signed a contract that could be worth over half a billion dollars.

La te da.
Hope the NFL crumbles and all those losers have to learn what it means to WORK for meager money not PLAY a GAME for millions and try to act like your hurting and your opinions actually matter.

Between the kneeling the pandering commissioner forced name changes and the obnoxious players they can all take a long walk off the short pier.

My sister's family came over to swim in the pool yesterday. 3 year old niece and 5 year old nephew. They were in the water for close to 5 hours. Crazy energy levels in those kids. But it was a lot of fun. Our two dogs were in the pool area the whole time, and I was a little worried about how Hannah would do, since usually when we have people in the house, she's ballistic for an hour or so, but she did just fine. Kinda meandered around, in between everyone, very normal dog-like. I was pretty impressed. Satchel went swimming in the pool a lot too, since the kids were obsessed with throwing his ball on so he had to retrieve it. My parents came over and swam too. Good times.

I haven't been around that many people outside of work in months. It shows how much I missed 'normality'.

That would annoy me quite a bit.
From what I've seen with other people that have them, it'll cost 3x what they save in tech support for charger cables.

If I had a pool, I couldn't keep my Goldens out of it without a fence. I shudder at the thought of what the filters would look like.

My paranoia meter is pegged.
Turns out that the nursing home was the one running the tests that called the person I was in contact with and 2 others positive. All 3 were asymptomatic and all 3 were re-tested and got negative results! I think there is fraud going on, so the corporate nursing home can rake in some bonus Covid bucks! Lets be honest, how many people in nursing home would you consider asymptomatic if were given a positive, even if you they didn't have it? I'll bet fairly few. The 3 people were a doctor, a nurses aid and a patient on deaths door. People became skeptical very quickly that the guy on death's door was asymptomatic. It wasn't so unheard of that employees would be healthy enough to not show signs. This all stinks to high heaven, and all my family's hassles were just fall-out. I wonder how common this is? Don't be surprised if there isn't a mountain of class action suits when the smoke clears. Just the direct costs of my company having to quarantine away myself and my cousin who also works there must be a few thousand at least.
Fraud and Corruption.

I think there is some over-reaction to the testing problems. Quick test means we lose some accuracy. Doesn't mean there is malice intended. There is a reason why we say physicians PRACTICE medicine. To that point, I would rather be quarantined for a few days while a second test is used to verify the accuracy of the first than for a doctor to remove my prostate because I had high PSA readings but no cancer.
