I love my XD9, it's my daily carry gun and I am laser-accurate with it. On the other hand, I've never owned a Glock and think I'm going to buy a G19. I love the 9mm caliber and I'm so bleak about the future of guns that I really think that we should all be buying the semi-auto rifles, pistols and even shotguns we really want, while we still can. I've got several AKs and ARs, but I've only got the XD9, a 1911 and a snubby 38 for serious carry pistols.

My XD is pre-melonite, too so I'm thinking the Glock might be a constant car gun, as the tenifer is pretty rust-resistant.

Anyone have any comment on this? I don't really want another XD, I have the best one in my opinion and I don't want to stock another caliber (I have a 1911 and keep a few boxes of 45 ACP around, but I don't stockpile). I figure a 9mm Glock is sort of like the AK of pistols. Good to have around if things go really south.

I've never owned a Glock, but I'll tell ya, That G19/23 frame size is just about perfect. Pretty stellar reliability from what I hear, too.

You can't go wrong with a Glock. Especially in 9mm. I shoot my Glock a lot more than I shoot my XD.

You'll love the glock. The rust resistance is great but they are susceptible to thievery though. Wouldn't leave it in the car.;)
I wish I had an XDsc. Just like you, I want the best of both worlds. Nothing wrong with that right? Let us know how you like it! And send pics! Can't get enough gun porn!

I had a G19, never had a problem with it. Just a bit too small for my goulish hands so I traded it for my XD45 service. Just fits me better and I like the .45acp. But, still an excellent handgun.;)

Love my Glocks. The 19 is awesome. Not to fond of my 21 since I got my XD45 but its not a bad piece, just very large, almost like I am holding a brick lol. Other then that no complaints.

I'm not sure how going from the XD to the Glock ie. ergonomics, is going to affect your shooting. I'm not flaming Glocks but I, personally, never liked how they felt shooting or in my hands, hence I own an XD. Glocks are dang fine weapons and if you really want one go for it. Why not wait for the XDM 9???? So if stuff does go south 19+1 is alot of bullets between mag changes!!!

Go for it! Of course the Glock 19 fits hands better than the subcompact Glock 26 but after handling the G26 quite a bit the last two days I picked up my XD40 and it felt like a peace of heaven. But one of the main reasons I got the G26 was concealability and gave up some comfort in the process. Trigger reset seems to definately be shorter/quicker on the Glock than the XD. Not sure if others notice the same thing or not. Either way have at it because if you end up not liking the G19, it won't be hard to find a buyer.

LOL... reading through the post, I had to check b/c I thought I was on Glock Talk.... LOL, its not a bad thing though...

I love Glocks. I always have, and always will.... it is just somthing personal that you have to try for yourself. I am a glock armorer, and can tell you that they are built tough. Glocks are the only firearms that I feel comfortable buying used. I know I can take it apart pretty easy and give it a pretty good reliability check. They are great guns, and I think you will be happy....have fun and keep us posted!!

Yep, alot of closed minded #[email protected]^*(. Both are great! By the way, who had the first polymer pistol and who's coppying who????
Didn't want to bring this up, But..........

HK had the first polymer gun - the VP70. A buddy bought the importable version last fall at the Tulsa show. :-D

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm hitting a gunstore today to check stock.
