I just got my XD Tactical back from Springfield. I sent it because it failed to strike the primer hard enough to fire the round consistently. It turns out that I found a new reason to not put too much oil on my gun. Apparently when I took the firing pin/ striker out to clean it, I used too much oil on it when I put it back together. Springfield told me that over-oiling the striker will cause lite hits on the primer. It makes sense...kind of like a hydraulic brake on the mechanism. I got it back with just a light coating of oil on it and it worked everytime that I pulled the trigger!

In addition to solving that problem, after requesting a refinsh job due to excessive wear on the blued areas, my gun came back with a new Springfield finish. Once again, I'm a happy camper!
