Most weapons manufactured today will fire steel or brass with equal ease; the only problems you may encounter are with carbon fouling in the chambers when using steel-cased. It doesn't expand the same as brass upon firing and may leave a small gap around the outer circumference. You might encounter some stuck cases when using brass in weapons designed for steel, also due to this expansion. In my experience a worry about excessive wear on extractors themselves just from using steel cased is usually either unfounded or exaggerated.
