I bougt my XD40 just this past Wednesday. I was finally able to take it out & shoot just yesterday. I couldn't be any happier w/ the pistol. Just likes the way it feels in my hand & accuracy has definitely impressed me the most. I'm in the process now of purchasing a ITP type kind of holster coz it will definitely be my new favorite carry pistol.

Just one question though if anyone could toss an advice out there? There was 3 or 5 times that my slide stayed open & failed to fall back forward w/ rounds still available. Am I just hitting the slide stop lever when firing?

Any help will be greatly appreciated...Happy 4th of July!

Yes...it is quite possible that your thumb is pushing up the slide lock...next time ur at the range, just make sure that this is not happening. Also...The first time I took my .40 to the range it did the same thing...i'm not sure if it was my thumb...or maybe it was just cuz the magazine needed to be broken in a little. I put about 600 rnds through it since and it never happened a second time.
