Any way to adjust the rear site that came from the factory slightly right of center?
do I just tap it lightly?
Also is there suppes to by an oddly shaped hole below the cocking indicator on the back of the gun? seemed odd.
I've adjusted my sights on a SC40. First time I did it I used a wooden dowel rod and tapped it with a hammer. Got a different XD (SC40 bitone) and put night sights on it. Took the slde off and put it in a vise. That time I used a brass punch to drift the sights. Hardest part was finding a brass punch. Finally found one at Sears, but I had to shape it with a grinder. If you don't have a grinder I'd say look for a small brass punch or try the dowel rod (much easier to find). The dowel actually works well for drifting (doesn't leave brass on your sights and slide). If you're taking the sight off entirely then you're going to want a brass punch (and let me tell you, it is no easy job).
PS - Don't use a standard metal punch. They're too hard and could damage your sights and/or slide.
