After about 400 rounds and 2 very good cleanings with gun scrubber my sights have turned to goo. I think at the factory they put in some liquid that is supposed to harden up. I think I may have got too much solvent on my sights and caused it myself but oh well.

So tonight I said F it and went to walmart to buy a 99 cent bottle of testors white paint. Scraped out the goo and painted my sights.

Seems a tad easier to see the sights and Im too cheap to buy night sights now.

Anybody else have this problem or am I just dumb?

Been using it for years. Best deal in sight paint out there. Works great just dipping a tootpick in it, let it drip off then touch the sights with it and stand it up for about an hour.

Well I went shooting over the weekend and when I cleaned my xd I got a little solvent on the sights and.... they are toast again.

I went to brownells and bought a white laquer stick that some AR guys use to bring out the lettering and they say its rock hard.

I hope this works I dont feel like painting my sights after every range trip

Night sights here I come. :D
