I have a remington 870 tactical and I would like to put a 28" 870 EXPRESS barrel on it. I haven't bought it yet but have found one I would like. My question is will the regular 870 receiver work with a 870 express barrel?

I believe they will but take your tactical receiver to the store you are going to buy the barrel and make sure they fit. The gun store that I hang out in,people bring things to check all the time,just tell someone first.

It should. Just make sure they both use the same (2 3/4 & 3", or just 2 3/4") rounds.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. But like mentioned before, take in your shotgun and see. Or you could always call remington to be sure.

I think there is a "field" version you have to stay away from, other 870 are the same.
