ok took the xd9 and the 870 to the range. was gettin 2in [email protected] 50 yards with slugs with my knoxx spec ops. then the xd. what the heck am i doin? :lol: i'm lefthanded (no that's not my problem) but i consistantly shot low. i had the target at 25 yards and all my shots were in the same area. it was http://www.pistoleer.com/targets/silhouette/ that target. i had a 5in grouping in the 7/8 area at the bottom in the center. i put a new target up and same thing. i did it for all 200 rounds.

shooting at 50yrds with the pistol or the 870?


with a pistol at 25-50yrds any little mistake you make shows dramaticaly on the target. if you were shooting low you were probably slightly jerking the trigger or anticipating recoil.

:idea: Aim higher. Maybe your percepted point of aim is lower than the mechanics of your sight alignment and sight picture. Even the XD manual is not clear as to distance for the 6 o'clock aim. Adjust accordingly.

shotgun was at 50 yards, xd was at 25 yards. i'll get some snap caps and see if that helps.
