In case i have to ship my XD off to S.A. for warranty work, do they pay for the shipping like setting up an account and giving me a confermation number? I had to do the Glock recall on a frame and they gave me a conformation number to pay for it . I havent shot my new XD40 yet but was just curious in case i have the usual FTF or FTE .

I got online and voiced my concerns, and emailed directly back and forth to the customer service rep. If you use the right words, they'll give you their UPS's billing account.
I didn't have to pay a dime.

ditto on 3 weeks; exactly 21 days from drop off at fedex to arrival at my doorstep.

I called a fedex/kinkos location near my house and said I have a handgun I need to send in for service (refinishing in armory cote) and asked them how much it would cost. The girl on the phone didn't know so she went to go check some things while I was on hold and then a guy came on the phone and said it will have to be in a case and they could put the case in a box but I asked if I could just put the pistol it a box, maybe bubble wrap it and he said that could be done as well. So I went over there and they got me a pretty big box for the size of the pistol and filled it half way with foam peanuts and said to put it in and then filled up the rest with peanuts again. The guy that was helping me was someone different and he had to check on things at one point and came back and said they can't ship it and I told him that I was on the phone with someone from here and he said if I show my firearm purchus card I can send it so he took the card to show someone and came back to tell me it's fine. So he wrote the RMA number on the box and put the label on it and I had to pay 15 dollars for the shipping (2 day express) and $500 insurance. They didn't mention anything about it having to be over night.
