Posting this for a woman I work with. Her friend's husband passed away unexpectedly and when she discovered the pistol below. They would like to determine the value and potential age of this weapon. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The Serial # is B314716
Barrel Marking - 32 Long CTG
Inside the cylinder hinge - 35795

I will post photos or email them to you ASAP.

Thank you all for your help!

Call SW customer service. They will give you the info on the gun. Have the serial # ready when you call.

Going to need pictures. Also going to need the actual serial number, what you've given isn't listed for any of the 32 S&W centerfires because of the B prefix which doesn't seem to exist. You'll find the correct serial number on the bottom of the grip frame, on earlier S&W revolvers the numbers inside the cylinder yoke are nothing more than tracking numbers used to keep the various parts together once fitted to the frame. An alternate location for the serial number on early revolvers is on the bottom of the barrel above the ejector rod, however if the barrel was ever changed it won't match the frame. They also stamped the rear of the cylinder under the extractor at one time but those are nearly microscopic in size.
