So i'm sure all ofyou have heard of the group buy oldschool ran on the ishot Digilight product. Well i jumped on the bandwagon and ordered one too... since doing so i've been interested in how well it would work mounted to the xd's and such.

Well another post on this forum discovered this accessory made by digilight for mounting to rails.

And i looked at some of digilight's other products and found that the T3,T12 and NT9 models come with this optional remote pressure switch.

Well this remote switch by itself is not listed as an available accessory so i called Digilight just now and spoke to a very polite gentleman who when asked if this would work on the 1000xb-LE(pistol-gear groupbuy model) he responded by saying "hm... give me one second... let me try..." then came 30 seconds of silence and then "Yes! it most surely does!"

So YES it will work with the 1000XB-LE

I asked if the company had plans to market this product separately and have it available for purchase in the near future and he said....

"Yes, we do have plans to but i am unsure of when exactly that may be, but i will be glad to take your email address and let you know."

By that comment i think he meant he will ask some of the others at his company for a better idea of expected release date. Ofcourse upon my receiving the email i will relay the info to all of you.

I thought some of you out there would appreciate hearing about this.

I got a response email from Digilight and they informed me that the remote switch was on order and that one it does come in that they will have it on their website.

Thanks for the info. Link it here when you come across it. I don't have a digilight but might buy one if I can get all the accessories to mount it on an 870 for cheap.

I noticed that the 1000XB is adjustable for beam. Does it have the dreaded "black hole" in the center when adjusted for wide flood? How does runtime compare to a Surefire 2 battery light (G2, 6P, C2, etc.)? Is the bulb bi-pin or like Surefire's?

For the price, I might get one for my AR if the beam is quality enough & it can handle the recoil of a rifle (albeit low for a 5.56).

If you are referring to the dark spot that forms in the middle of the beam, yes.

Well i still haven't run this battery down yet so i can't say for run time, but i'm pleased so far. I have no experience with the other lights so can't compare. The bulb is attached to the metal disc as is the spare that comes with it.

Haven't mounted to a gun so can't comment on resilience against shock. But it seems to be a pretty solidly built piece. If i had to do it all over again, i would still get it... and maybe one more as a gift for a friend.
