I normally load Montana Gold 124 gr CMJ Round Nose bullets in 9mm. I was just given a bunch of Montana Gold 147 gr CMJ. The person who gave them to me says they are Round Nose, but while they look similar, the end is flat.

Are these considered round nose of flat when trying to select the seating stem (Dillon press)? What would be a good starting OAL? I did a search but don't seem to find any data for these specific bullets.

If they look like the first couple bullets i see when I do a google image search for "montana gold bullets 9mm 147gr CMJ" then I think you are fine loading them on the RN stem since they are shaped like a RN bullet instead of being shaped like a SWC or more of a cone shape, I'm loading my 147gr Missouri bullets to 1.100 (1.095-1.115).

to be honest fred would know best since I'm new to reloading.

Thanks for the advice and the possible OAL. The bullet does appear to be a round nose with the end cut off. I did a test fit and it seems to fit the round nose stem just fine.

Got me some Montana Gold for my Ruger .357. Haven't fired any off yet, but damn they are pretty!
