I'm definitely in the pro-dot camp, especially for EDC guns, but I understand there's a lot of different opinions on it. At least with the OSP version, you're not making any permanent modifications (e.g. slide milling) that you can't undo if you change your mind. So I say go for it! If you don't like it, you can always put the cover plate back on and sell the dot.

EDC gun? What distance and at what cadence of shots are u training to engage a threat vs escape and evade?

21 feet and in, absolute threat coming at u, don’t need it. Ur point shooting in that scenario.

Gun can do it, but can u put multiple shots on target past 21 feet, at speed? If so, with irons, red dot may be of benefit.

Run a rmr on my CZ P10C EDC and love it. It’s really about the training. A red dot, in and of itself, won’t make u a better shooter/shot.

I 100% agree with you that red dots do not automatically make someone a better shooter and that it comes down to training. But I don’t think training is any less important with iron sights. Red dots are by no means a magic solution.
