Okay so my build went a different way. I got a good deal on a BCM 14.5 with pinned a2x. So now I am working with my first Carbine length gas system. I own a several ARs but I've never dabbled in the Carbine 14.5.
So this build is going to be a light weight build. Already paired with a lower and ctr stock. I'm looking for an easy install, lightweight rail. I have a gg&g on my m&p and it is HEAVY. I have a vltor cas-v on another rifle and that is a bit better.

I would like:
- Rail space for a light
-Rail space for a vfg or afg
- Not too heavy, but nothing polymer.
Not a Moe. I already have one of those for temporary use.
I'd greatly prefer a quad rail or rail/keymod combo.
Thank you!
Budget is under 300. If it goes a little over that's fine, but obviously I'd prefer to spend less.

Seekins are awesome, Midwest industries are super light, but smaller diameter.

Black Rain is my favorite. Extremely high quality, and look awesome.

Troy Alpha, BCM KMR.

My next build will be a 14.5" middy with the 13" KMR. Looks like a nice setup and is insanely light.

I love the Diamondhead VRS-T 13.5" that came on my Stag. It's light (google search shows 14oz's in other forums so take that with a grain of salt), modular, looks really nice on a 16" barrel with the angled leading edge, is ridiculously comfortable, and only comes in at $189.

Even buying different rail sections and bumpers you should be well under your $300 budget.

It's also really easy to install and remove. Diamondhead's barrel nut requires no special tools; just a standard crescent wrench will do the trick and the rail holds tight to the nut with just two allen head screws on the bottom of the base.

Showing pics of install here, also where I got the unconfirmed weight;

the MI SS T-Series tubes are really nice, and well within your price range. I have the Gen-2 Quad rails on both my carbine and my DMR and they installed lickity-split. nice and tight.

Some of those were already on my short list, but a few of them I still need to look into! They all look really nice. I especially like the quick install of some of the MI stuff. I might just take her out with the Moe and put her through her paces!

11oz on the 14-inch for $230.00 msrp. That's with key-mod & rails at 12 & 6 with just enough at the front of 3 & 9.

Rail

If you're not going to go MOE permanently, I'd suggest the Troy Alpha rail. Great quality and uses your standard barrel nut, so pretty easy to install from my understanding (I don't own an AR with a Troy, but a friend of mine does and I've held/shot his).
